Kerala tourism
Kerala, also known as God’s Own Country, is immensely blessed
with unique and unmatched feast of natural, socio-economic and cultural
attractions, is located between north latitudes 8°18' and 12°48'
and east longitudes 74°52' and 72°22' with a total land
area of 38,863 square kilo meters bordering Arabian Sea at the west
and the Western Ghats to the east.
Located at the southern tip of the Indian subcontinent and occupies
just 1.18% of India’s total land area but offers a lot of
attractions like serene beaches, enchanting backwaters, coast line,

State Award instituted by Outlook Traveler for the year 2000-2001.
Government has declared tourism as an industry as far back as in
1986 and offers incentives and concessions to the industry to promote
tourism products in the state
